Accomplishment (lack
of) Lack of fulfillment; lack of doing
something creditably or admirably.
Acne Localized skin inflammation as a result of overactivity of the oil
glands at the base of hair follicles. Acne happens when oil (sebaceous) glands
come to life around puberty, when these glands are stimulated by male hormones
that are produced in the adrenal glands of both boys and
girls.
Activity
(extreme) The quality or process or of
exerting energy or of accomplishing an effect. Extreme would be above and
beyond the normal activity level that would only be accomplished by a trained
athlete, some one who is unusually busy or excessively hyper.
Affectivity
(excessive) Pertaining to a feeling or mental state. The
basal tone or tendency of the feeling life. Excessive would one who is feeling
life (emotionally, psychologically) beyond normal.
Aggressivity
The act of being aggressive: a form of behavior
which leads to self assertion; it may arise from innate drives and/or a
response to frustration; it may be manifested by destructive and attacking
behavior, by covert attitudes of hostility and obstructionism, or by a healthy
self-expressive drive to mastery.
Angry
temperament The peculiar physical
character and mental cast of an individual. In this case one which is born out
of anger. Loud and out of control, not able to contain temper.
Anorexia Considered being a type of eating disorder in an entire spectrum of
eating disorders. It is also, and more importantly, a psychological disorder.
It is a condition that goes beyond out-of-control dieting. The person with
anorexia initially begins dieting to lose weight. Over time, the weight loss
becomes a sign of mastery and control. The drive to become thinner is actually
secondary to concerns about control and/or fears relating to one's
body.
Anxiety A feeling of apprehension and fear characterized by physical symptoms
such as palpitations, sweating, and feelings of stress.
Apathy Lack of feeling or emotion; indifference.
Arterial
disorders A derangement or abnormality of function
affecting the vessels that carry blood away from the heart (as opposed to those
that carry blood to the heart (veins).
Arrhythmia (irregular
heartbeat) Palpitations are unpleasant sensations of
irregular and/or forceful beating of the heart. In some patients with
palpitations, no heart disease or abnormal heart rhythms can be found. Reasons
for their palpitations are unknown. In others, palpitations result from
abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). Arrhythmias refer to heartbeats that are
too slow, too rapid, irregular, or too early.
Asthma Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the bronchial tubes (airways)
that cause swelling and narrowing (constriction) of the airways. The result is
difficulty breathing. The bronchial narrowing is usually either totally or at
least partially reversible with treatments.
Attention Deficit
Disorder Attention deficit disorder is a condition that
refers to an individual's inability to control their own behavior or impulses.
It can be manifest as constant movement and fidgeting. These patients have
difficulty blocking out noise or other stimuli in order to focus on a task or
what is being said. It usually becomes most evident when a child enters school
and has difficulty adjusting to the structure and demands of the
classroom.
Authoritarianism A
person who favors or acts according to authoritarian principles (exercising
control over the will of others.)
Baby (breech
presentation) Presentation of the buttocks or feet of the
fetus in labor.
Balance (lack
of) Lack of a state of equilibrium; equal distribution of
weight. May also pertain to lack of emotional or mental
steadiness.
Bilious
character Characterized by bile or
excess bile, which is responsible for alkalizing the intestinal contents and in
fat absorption. Symptoms would include nausea, abdominal discomfort, headache
and constipation.
Bladder: trouble with
urination (enuresis, incontinence) Enuresis: involuntary discharge of
the urine- may be nocturnal - (occurring during sleep). Incontinence: failure of voluntary control of urine, with
constant or frequent involuntary passage of urine.
Bone metabolism
The sum of the physical and chemical process in bone which its
substance is produced (how bone is built up and broken down on a daily
basis).
Brain tone (loss of
cerebral faculties) Loss of the normal healthy mental
condition or functioning.
Breast
problems Any number of problems associated with the
breast ( mastitis, lactation problems, etc).
Bronchitis,
(bronco-pneumonia) Inflammation and swelling of the
bronchi. Bronchitis can be acute or chronic. Chronic bronchitis usually is
defined clinically as a daily cough with production of sputum for 3 months, two
years in a row. In chronic bronchitis, there is inflammation and swelling of
the lining of the airways that lead to narrowing and obstruction of the
airways. The inflammation stimulates production of mucous (sputum), which can
cause further obstruction of the airways.
Bulimia
Bulimia, also called bulimia nervosa, is a
disorder in the eating disorder spectrum. Bulimia is characterized by episodes
of secretive excessive eating (bingeing) followed by inappropriate methods of
weight control, such as self-induced vomiting (purging), abuse of laxatives and
diuretics, or excessive exercise. An insatiable appetite, often interrupted by
periods of anorexia. Bulimia is a psychological disorder that can be
accompanied by self-induced vomiting.
Cardiac
disorders Any disorders that pertain to the heart
(Congestive Heart disease, Myocardial Infarction, Valvular disease,
etc).
Cervical
vertebras Seven bones of the spinal column found in the
neck.
Child's laterality
problems The dominance or superior development of one
side of the body or brain in children.
Choice (difficulty
making a) Difficulty in deciding between two or more
choices.
Chronic asthenia
(tiredness) Chronic (as opposed to acute) lack or loss of
strength and energy; weakness.
Concentration (lack
of) Lack of exclusive attention to one object or lack of
close mental application.
Confidence (lack
of) Lack of belief in oneself and ones powers or
abilities. Lack of belief in the powers, trustworthiness or reliability of a
person or thing; reliance.
Constipation Constipation: Infrequent (and frequently incomplete) bowel movements.
The opposite of diarrhea, constipation is commonly caused by irritable bowel
syndrome, diverticulosis, and medications (constipation can paradoxically be
caused by overuse of laxatives).
Cramps, contractions,
stiffness When we use the muscles that can voluntarily be
controlled, such as those of our arms and legs, they alternately contract and
relax as we move our limbs. Muscles that support our head, neck, and trunk
contract similarly in a synchronized fashion to maintain our posture. A muscle
(or even a few fibers of a muscle) that involuntarily (without consciously
willing it) contracts is called a "spasm." If the spasm is forceful and
sustained, it becomes a cramp. A muscle cramp is thus defined as an
involuntarily and forcibly contracted muscle that does not
relax.
Creativity (lack
of) Lack of the ability to create
meaningful new forms, interpretations, etc; Lack of originality.
Dental surgery Strict definition: Surgery pertaining to the teeth. Liberal
definition may include the gums and other parts of the mouth.
Depression:
overworked (lack of) An illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts,
that affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself,
and the way one thinks about things. A depressive disorder is not the same as a
passing blue mood. It is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that
can be wished away. People with a depressive disease cannot merely "pull
themselves together" and get better. Without treatment, symptoms can last for
weeks, months, or years.
Depression: after a
moving Depression brought on by changing ones
residence. May happen before, during or after the move. Relocating one's
life.
Depression: spaced out
Depression with a feeling of being disconnected with ones
body. Not feeling grounded or in the present moment.
Depression: with
anxiety Depression with distress, uneasiness of the mind or
apprehension.

apathy, dejection Depression with
absence or suppression of passion, emotion or excitement (apathy); Depression
with lowness of spirit (dejection).
Depression: with

intellectual asthenia Depression with lack or loss of
strength of intellectual capacity.

melancholia A severe form of depression associated with
weight loss, insomnia and an inability to experience

Desire (lack of)
Lack of wishing for or longing for something; absence of
craving; may be lack of sexual appetite or urge.
Diarrhea Diarrhea generally is defined as frequent and/or loose stools.
Diarrhea can be either acute or chronic. Acute diarrhea resolves spontaneously
in less than 2-3 weeks while chronic diarrhea lasts longer than 4
weeks.
Digestion (slow and
uneasy) Longer than usual and an uneasy feeling associated
following eating.
Digestive
disorders Any number of disorders associated with the
process or act of converting food into chemical substances that can be absorbed
and assimilated.
Disorganization Breaking up of order or
system; disunion or disruption of constituent parts; Disarrangement;
disorder.
Disorientation Loss of perception of time, place or ones personal identity.
Loss of ones way; confused;.
Dizziness A disturbed sense of
relationship to space; sensation of unsteadiness with a feeling of movement
within the head; giddiness.
Dyspareunia Difficult or painful coitus (sexual intercourse).
Earache Pain in the ear.
Ejaculation
(early) Premature, sudden act of expulsion (as with
semen).
Elbow
disorders A number of disorders affection the elbow
(tennis elbow, etc).
Energy (lack
of) Lack of capacity for vigorous activity; lack of
available power; Lack of feeling of having adequate or abundant of such
power.
Envious
character Full of, feeling or expressing
envy.
Erection
troubles Difficulty in obtaining or maintaining penile
erection.
Eye disorders
(cornea) Any number of disorders affecting the transparent
structure forming the fibrous tunic (covering) of the
eyeball.

(retina) Any number of disorders affecting the innermost of
three tunics of the eyeball surrounding the vitreous body (fluid area) and
continuing posteriorly with the optic nerve.
Fat Metabolism The sum of the physical and chemical process in which its substance

Fear (any): anguish,
phobia Distressing emotion aroused by pending danger, evil,
pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of
being afraid. Anguish: acute suffering or pain. Phobia: persistent
irrational of a specific object, activity or situation that leads a compelling
desire to avoid it
Fear of
childbirth Distressing emotion aroused by pregnant woman
prior to bearing a child.
Femininity (difficult
of expression) A disturbed sense of relationship to space;
sensation of unsteadiness with a feeling of movement within the head;
giddiness.
General metabolic
imbalance Unequal abnormal process of the physical and
chemical process in the body by which its substance is produced, maintained and
destroyed.
Grounded (to
be) To be firmly rooted in ones beliefs; to be in touch with
ones feelings and in touch with reality.
